Some of the things I’m excited about coming up this month in London. Some a little spooky just in time to get in the mood for Halloween

Rivoili Ballroom is showing a number of Halloween themed movies. The Rivoli Ballroom is one of the last remaining intact 1950’s style ballroom left in London, It has been host to BBCs Strictly come dancing and a number of big name movies thanks to its authentic vintage look.

One of the movies they will be showing that I’m really excited about is Little shop of Horrors showing on September 23rd. They also have more spooky movies showing all through October including Hocus Pocus, Rocky Horror, Carrie, Beetlejuice and The Shining. I can’t think of a better way to enjoy the lead up to Halloween.

It’s such a shame its not closer to me otherwise I would definitely make time to see a few of the features they have coming.

MIssion Breakout London have Fright Night Fridays with extra scares every Friday. They hold escape room experiences and are based in Kentish town.

“It was dark, frightening, and truly a matter of escaping back to the safety of reality”

Escaping from a disused train station in the dark sounds terrifying to me but I think it sounds like a really fun experience to have with friends. This escape room was featured in Trip advisors top 10 escape rooms in London. The rooms are private so you won’t be mixed with any other parties and there are three rooms that can be played consecutively which allows you to attend with a group of up to eighteen players. These run every Friday night so there are plenty dates to choose from in the run up to Halloween if you’re someone that likes to celebrate over the whole month.

If you want to do something really creepy there are a few Jack the Ripper tours running at the moment in London. You can choose from walking guided tours , tours that stop for food or a few alcoholic drinks and even a Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes tour.

Jack the Ripper

“There are few serial killers as notorious as Jack the Ripper, and brave London visitors can delve into the dark underbelly of the East End on a Jack the Ripper tour. Discover the dark legacy of Jack the Ripper on a tour of East London neighborhoods such as Whitechapel, Aldgate, Spitalfields, and Brick Lane. Visit Jack the Ripper’s gruesome murder sites including the Frying Pan pub, Hanbury Street, Ten Bells Pub, Goulston Street, and Mitre Square.”

If you want to do something for the Halloween season and you will have children in tow, there are many options for you too. You can visit The Dark Arts Season at The Making of Harry Potter in Watford Junction.

Warner Bros Studios’ blockbuster Harry Potter exhibition has undergone a spooky makeover from now until early November as its Dark Arts theme returns. Most spectacularly, the Great Hall is filled with a hundred flickering, flying jack-o’-lanterns – aka Instagram heaven”.

And of course lets not forget that the Musical WIcked is still showing in the west end at the Apollo Theatre Victoria. You can’t really get more Halloween than this and its a wonderful production to see with the whole family. I’m sure everyone already knows but it is an alternative reading of The Wizard of Oz and has taken the theatre world by storm since its first official opening in London on 27th September 2006.

What are your plans to get you in the spooky mood this Halloween?
