1 or 2 fun Kid Friendly Snack Ideas

1 or 2 fun Kid Friendly Snack Ideas

It’s always a good idea to have some fun kid friendly snack/meal ideas to hand. If you have children or have ever spent a significant time with someone under the age of 8 then you’ll know that their ability to snack is unrivaled. Of course, given the choice they’d be reaching for chocolate biscuits all day long but instead, here are some easy and affordable kid friendly snack ideas.

Lunch for children. Pasta with sandwiches and vegetables. Cheerful face.

Pizza Pin Wheels

If you want to feel like you have baked your kid’s snacks from scratch then this is the ultimate cheat snack idea. Grab a sheet of pre-made puff pastry and cover it in tomato puree. Then you can load it with their preferred toppings and some cheese – roll them up, cut them into slices and pop into the oven or air fryer until their cooked – delicious!

Snack Plates

If there is one thing that kids love it is variety – and the ability to love a certain food one day and absolutely detest it the next. Putting together snack plates gives them the chance to pick at what they want – and you can slowly introduce new foods into the mix. Pitta breads, fruit, some sweet treats, yogurt, chopped up veggies and things like pieces of cheese all make good additions to kid friendly snack plates.

Getting Inventive

If you feel like you want to get adventurous then creating your own snacks from yogurt can be fun – You could opt to place blobs of yogurt onto a lined tray and freeze them, for healthy chocolate button style treats – these are great for teething babies. Add some fruit and put your yogurt into an ice lolly mold and make your own frozen treats, great for the hot weather we’ve been having recently.

If you’re wanting to get creative while making a meal for children it can be really fun to get them involved for example pizza making. A lot of times getting a pizza base and letting kids add the toppings they want is a fun way to prepare a meal together in your kitchen and get them interested in the ingredients.

Shop Bought Snacks

If you’re caught on the hop and need to grab something on the run then shop brought snacks are okay too. Things like pieces of cheese can work well, and you’ll always find pre-packed fruit in a supermarket too. Popping into Tesco to grab a few little picky bits for the kids to make sure they have something nutritional to get them through the day is always a good option. Snack packs and picnic/party foods make great little lunches for kids when you’re on the go too.
