Having educational activities to entertain children on hand can be very helpful. The school holidays are some of the most exciting times for children as they get a break from early starts and long sessions of learning. However, alongside fun and time spent with family, it is important that your child keeps on top of their education throughout the holidays to prevent falling back. 1. Keep on top of reading. Reading is something that can be done daily such as before
   bed and is something that is both entertaining and educational for your child to do.

2. Celebrate the colder season together. As we escape from summer, we find ourselves

3. Create together. The holidays are a great time to decorate the house depending on

   make Christmas cards for friends and family as well as create paintings inspired by
   the colourful season.
4. Experiment with science. Children love experiments so take it upon yourself to take
   part in some kitchen chemistry. You can show your child how to make their own ice
   cream using a bag, ice and salt. Not only is this a tasty experiment to take part in but
   your child will understand the concept of reactions and elements.
5. Take a trip into the past. Children love to watch movies and TV shows during their
   time off school, so why not introduce them to shows that will teach them about
   history and be somewhat educational. Not only will they be introduced to different cultures and people, they may show more interest in history than you perceived.
